Invitation for Bids / Request for Expression of Interest

Operating the KDP Lodge in Morogoro Town Nearest to SGR Station

A private owner of the modern lodge (KDP Lodge) located at Kihonda, Kilimanjaro Street—closest (within 100 metres) to Morogoro Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) station—intends to enter into an agreement with an operator of the business under agreed terms and conditions.

The owner now invites interested local and foreign business operators (companies or individuals) to apply for the tender to operate the lodge.

Tendering will be conducted through Open Competitive Tendering procedures.

Lodge Infrastructure and Features

The modern lodge includes the following:

  • 21 self-contained rooms for accommodation, fully furnished with standard and king-size beds and mattresses with bed sheets, plus televisions
  • 1 restaurant
  • Two offices
  • 1 kitchen
  • 2 resting areas (one with a mini-bar), both with big screens
  • Connected with water supply from Morogoro water supply (MORUWASA), plus 1 deep borehole for emergency
  • 1 washing machine (digital)
  • The lodge is fenced and installed with CCTV cameras to enhance security
  • Connected with power (electricity—three phase, solar power)

Location Advantages

  • The lodge is located just 600 meters from the highway (Morogoro-Dodoma Road)
  • 40 meters from the tarmac road which connects with the Morogoro SGR station
  • According to the Morogoro Masterplan, the area is an investment/business zone
  • The SGR cargo station is already constructed
  • New Daladala and Bus stop are being constructed (between 50-70 meters from the KDP Lodge)

Mode of Operation

The management unit that is the potential operator/manager will be given absolute autonomy to:

  • Run the lodge
  • Hire and manage the required staff
  • Be responsible for business compliance

Required Application Documents

Interested individuals/companies should send their application consisting of:

  • Expression of interest, including project start date if successful
  • Business plan and/or financial projection for their business
  • Specific requirements which may be needed for the proposed business
  • The profile of the company/individual/s, including referees, portfolio, TIN, business registration license

Important Notes

  • Late applications/bids, portion bids, bids submitted but not opened and not read out to the public at the tender opening ceremony shall not be accepted for evaluation irrespective of the circumstances.
